Turning off Work Requests Generated from Inspections

How to reduce the amount of work requests generated from an inspection.

If you are overwhelmed by the number of work requests generated by your inspections, you may be wondering how to turn them off.

There is no way to turn off a work request from an S-U-N/A line item. You can, however, change the types of line items you use to get fewer work requests.

For example, instead of having every line item be S-U-N/A, each section can have Checklist line items. Checklist line items do not generate work orders, but you can still add comments that would be seen in the inspection reports.

Then, at the bottom of each section, you can have a general S-U-N/A line item to describe repairs needed for anything mentioned in the section. Below is how that could look while setting up an inspection in the system.

Inspection Template Checkbox

Note: For historical reporting purposes, you cannot change the line item type for an existing line item. You need to remove the old line item and create a new one with the type you want.

In the Setup menu, choose Inspection Templates.

Click on the name of the inspection you want to change.

Delete Old Line Items

Click on the line item you want to remove.

Scroll down and change the status to Remove.

Click Update Line Item.

Repeat the process for each of the line items you want to create.

Create New Line Items

In the section you want the line item to appear, click the blue +Add New Line Item.

Give the line item a name.

For item type, select Checkbox.

Fill out any other relevant information and then click the blue +Add New Line Item button.

Repeat the process for each of the line items you want to create.
